I am an overwhelmingly loved child of God, an extremely blessed wife, a mommy of four wonderfully made children, a thankful woman surrounded by many friendships that have made my heart full. God is good... ALL the time.

Prayer for Maxter and his Momma!

This is MY Momma! My beautiful, strong, sweet, giving Momma and one of my very best friends as well. I know I have asked for prayer for her in the past but I am asking again. I am asking for continual prayer for her. She has so much to go through daily in taking care of my little Bubba Maxter. He is a handful, a blessing, but a handful and I have a feeling it is only going to get harder in so many ways for her. I decided to start a blog about Max to meet other parents that may be going through the same things, to ask for prayer, and to keep family and friends updated on how Max is doing.

This is my littlest sister Zoie, I call her Zo or Zo-zo. I also ask for prayer for her. I know she doesn't take care of Max but I also know that being his sister can be hard at times, I am sure. He needs a lot of attention and I know my mom does a great job trying to make sure Zo gets the attention she needs as well. She is 10 now, almost 11 (wow, that is crazy) so she is a lot more independent and has so many friends to hang out with and keep her busy! :) I love this little girl so much! I was 18 when she was born and I babysat a lot and I am so thankful that I got to be such a huge part of her life as she grew 'up'!
This is my baby Bubba Max, I call him Bubba or Maxter. He has given me so much joy. He is a stubborn, ornery, spoiled little boy but at the same time he is loving, sweet, and gives the best kisses and kindest hugs you will ever receive! Max was born with Down Syndrome and later had Infantile Spasms (epilepsy). I don't know a lot about it but I know that it causes a lot of problems and causes them to be extremely delayed. Right now Max still doesn't walk, crawl, or get around on his own at all. He weighs almost 60 lbs. and my mom has to carry him everywhere around the house. She has a stroller/wheel chair for when they go places but she has to carry him A LOT. This is really hard on her physically. He can also be a bit rough and he is very strong. When he is angry or anxious he will bang his head on things, bite, pinch (hard), and move around crazy. This obviously makes it very hard on her physically as well. He also will gag himself at times and make himself throw up. You can imagine, this is not like a baby spitting up but it is THROW UP and a lot of it. I am not trying to gross you out but I am just wanting everyone to see/hear how hard this is on my mom. She is a strong person in so many ways but I just know this is becoming SO much for her. I want to be here as much as I can for her. Obviously I have four kids of my own so its hard to be there as much as I really want to be. So the best thing I know to do is pray! To share this prayer request with all of you and to ask you to remember her. I pray God touches her heart and soul. I know that with God we can do all things and get through all things. Now, Maxter is not only stubborn and ornery but he is also very sweet. He loves music, he loves it when we sing to him. He loves to watch his nieces and nephew play and dance for him. It is so cute when they get him giggling. I think Sophia is his favorite. She loves to play with him and will sing right in his face and he loves it. It is so sweet! He is our little blessing, our little Bubba!
